Ytskyddsdagarna is the Nordics' largest event for everyone working to extend the lifespan of equipment and structures in concrete and metal. Since its start the conference has grown into the natural meeting point for property owners, contractors, consultants, material suppliers, authorities and researchers – two days where the entire value chain meets under one roof.
The Right Surface Protection in the Right Place in the Right Way is one of the most powerful tools we have to manage our shared resources. By surface protecting what is already built or manufactured we extend the lifespan of equipment and structures and at the same time reduce environmental impact – in many cases by up to 80%.

Ytskyddsdagarna alternates every other year between Stockholm and Gothenburg. In 2027 it is Gothenburg's turn again – at Eriksbergshallen in its historic industrial setting, with hotels within walking distance and the same high ambitions as in previous years.
Sustainability through extended lifespan
Renovation, surface protection and reinforcement of metal and concrete is one of the most complex fields of work that exists. RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (formerly Korrosionsinstitutet and CBI Betonginstitutet) has calculated that the deterioration of metal and concrete costs over 200 billion SEK every year – and there are demonstrably billions to be saved by using the Right Technology, in the Right Place and in the Right Way in Time.

A study from Linköping University shows that renovation instead of new construction can result in up to 80 percent lower environmental impact. Numbers from IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute show that if the structural frame of buildings is preserved, climate impact can be reduced by 60 percent. The conference
Two days of talks in four parallel tracks. We mix longer deep-dives with short, sharp sessions and panel discussions. Speakers are active in the industry – from leading contractors and suppliers to researchers and clients – and every program is quality-assured by our agenda committee.
The exhibition
Right next to the conference, the industry's suppliers showcase the latest products, systems and machinery. Here you can touch and feel materials, ask technical questions directly to the manufacturer and find new partners for your next project.
Awards & Ytskydd by Night
Day one ends with a shared dinner and mingle – one of Ytskyddsdagarna's most appreciated elements. During the evening the awards Årets Eldsjäl (Flame of the Year) and Årets Ytskyddare (Surface Protector of the Year) are also presented. Conversations from the conference and exhibition continue in a relaxed tone, and many of the industry's long-term relationships have started right here.
