The night the industry gathers

When the conference doors close on day one, Ytskydd by Night opens. It's the evening when the whole industry gathers around long tables, raises a glass together and lets the conversations from seminar rooms and exhibition hall continue in a relaxed tone. This is where many of the industry's long-term relationships begin – over a good dinner, a glass of wine and a handshake.

Midway through the evening the mood shifts. The lights dim, the stage takes over and Ytskyddsakademien presents two of the industry's most honourable awards: Årets Eldsjäl (Flame of the Year) and Årets Ytskyddare (Surface Protector of the Year). It is a moment of recognition for the people and companies who have made a real difference for the industry.

Ytskydd by Night takes place right after day one of the conference. The dinner is included for everyone with a conference ticket – stay on and network with the entire industry.

Shared dinner

A three-course dinner in the historic industrial setting of Eriksbergshallen – long tables, mixed seating and room for spontaneous encounters. We place guests so that different parts of the value chain meet: contractors next to clients, suppliers next to consultants, researchers next to practitioners.

Awards ceremony

The awards of the evening

Two awards are presented during Ytskydd by Night. Both are Ytskyddsakademien's way of highlighting the work that drives the entire industry forward – from individual enthusiasts to companies that raise the bar for the whole collective.

Årets Eldsjäl – Flame of the Year

Årets Eldsjäl is awarded to a person who through commitment, knowledge and perseverance has contributed to developing the surface protection industry. It honours people driven by a genuine passion for the craft, who share their experience and inspire others to raise the quality of their work.

Årets Ytskyddare – Surface Protector of the Year

Through Årets Ytskyddare, Ytskyddsakademien together with partners recognises innovative people and companies whose choices of methods and training for renovation and surface protection of concrete and metal have extended lifespan, reduced environmental impact and improved capital value of equipment and structures.
